A career as a paralegal in family law introduced Stephanie to a broad swath of society inspiring her creation of colorful characters with humor and humanity. She is hard at work on her Judge Kari cozy mystery series including Judge or Not to Judge, Judge Me Tender and a third book in progress.

Her outlook comes from her experience in practicing marital and family law, as well as dealing with her family full of criminal law attorneys who think Kari is a black sheep.
